The NFC West team plays the Bears in Chicago to open the 2022 season. Trey Lance will be making his season debut.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like one of the 49ers' best offensive weapons will play. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, George Kittle is "not expected" to play against the Bears in Week 1.
George Kittle is being treated for groyne pain. Although it's not thought to be a major situation, the 49ers won't be taking any chances. The season is lengthy.
In the regular season's opening game against the Bears on Sunday afternoon, Lance will have to rely on Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk.
